The story of an artistic spirit finding expression in an unexpected material. Painter and illustrator Ben Nettles graduated from Ringling School of Art and Design in 2006 and quickly became enamored with an emerging body of research in concrete innovation, seeking to bring the art form to Sarasota. In 2006, Ben completed his advanced certification training with the renowned concrete design innovator Fu-Tung Cheng . Not long after, Ben founded Ben Nettles Concrete Design, creating custom concrete pieces of his own design. Ben Nettles Concrete Design has become known for their consistent output of Modern concrete designs, pushing the envelope for homeowners, architects, remodelers, and builders pursuing modern aesthetics.

Ben’s custom work has been featured in multiple homes and businesses across the Gulf Coast. Half artisan, half manager, Matt Kaskey can be found utilizing his skill in project management in the service of aesthetic pursuits on any given day. A trained chef and experienced construction manager, Matt blends his identities as both an aesthete and leader at Ben Nettles Concrete. The organizing force of the company, Matt is who you want to talk to about new ideas, project details and studio capabilities (as well as good whiskey).
